Peace, Firebirds:

My show:  La Shaun phoenix Moore presents I N F E R N O is rapidly approaching!!  I am SO stoked!!  Order your tickets in advance to guarantee yourself a seat.  Even if you can’t make it, consider purchasing a ticket just to support my efforts.  There is so much that I want to accomplish and it’s going to take a village to help!  Are you my village?  Yeah?  Help me: https://lpminferno.eventbrite.com/

I am in such a great emotional and professional space right now!  Doors and opportunities are rolling in almost faster than I can even imagine.  But, that’s the thing:  I DID imagine my life…my art catapulting like this.  It’s what I’ve been wanting for the last five or six years.

There is so much going on in this season as a phoenix for me.  I’m evolving into a woman of great character.  I have no shame for praising myself in this effort, either.  I’ve been doing the work.  The self-checking hasn’t been easy.  I’ve unearthed some behaviors that have needed serious correction.  I’ve also had to have some really hard conversations within my circle about what friendship used to mean to me, versus what I need out of a relationship now.  I’ve also had to come clean about things that I hadn’t even realized that I’d been harboring.

As it goes with sins of omission, some of the things that I had to address weren’t well received.  In fact, some of them have turned into angry rages of words and scorned Facebook status messages from my recipients.  All of which are, quite frankly, FAIR.  I’m controlling my lower self that wants to offer a retort.  People get to work through their pain however they want without me trying to manipulate that.

In that, I could have ultimately ended some relationships this week that, in my mind, had room for repair/salvaging.

And you know what?  That sucks.  However, there is a light at the end of all of this.

Being honest…being authentic, is better in the long run for everyone.  I don’t want to engage in passive-aggressive living.  It hurts people. I don’t want to hurt people (or myself) going into my new season.

If you’ve been concealing a thing or harboring friction – calmly, lovingly address it.  If you don’t, your actions…your ACTIONS will call you out.  You’ll be irritated and easily offended; angry and resentful.  Save yourself.  Don’t try to emotionally manipulate people.  Understand that the changes in your life may no longer work for THEM.  If the door closes, reflect kindly on how you’ve advanced BECAUSE of the situation.  Send love and light.  Forgive them and yourself.  Fearlessly move on.

I’ve learned that acquaintance isn’t a bad word.

I’ve learned that friendship is much deeper than hanging out in a room of awesome folks.  For me, it is rooted in the notion of iron sharpening iron.  I want to be BETTER because of my friends.  Even if it means I have to address the ugly shit about myself that sometimes surfaces.  I’m human.  I will err.  I deserve and expect love to be a celebration and a reproof.  I want to be sharpened by my circle, not held back because of them.

Remember our anthem for the year:

  • Be careful who you let in and around your circle (including family).  Not everyone deserves the pleasure of your presence.
  • Love yourself where you are right now.  If you have a little more to love – love that.  If you want to have less to love – then work on it.  But, love yourself where you are right now.
  • Pursue your purpose.  If you don’t know what that is right now, seek out your Creator for an answer.  Look at the context clues around you.  Consider what you’re passionate about.  But, LIVE your purpose.  You’re not truly living if you aren’t.

Thank you for being a part of my journey.  I am SUPER grateful for each of you!  I’m STILL gigging all over the place!  Check out my list of upcoming performances.
